My son, the literalist & future mathematician. Sees only the obvious.
He & his dad were reading a quiz book of baseball facts last night. One quiz asked the significance of certain games.
The first question: "April 15, 1947 - (Brooklyn) Dodgers 5, (Boston) Braves 3"
The answer: "Jackie Robinson broke baseball's color barrier when he made his big league debut."
Six-year-old son's wonderment: "What sound did the color barrier make when Jackie Robinson broke it?"
What a little guy. Husband was speechless at his innocence.
But really, how DO you describe an amazing, reverberating "sound" like THAT?
